PADS Frequently Asked Questions

For overnight volunteers:

How will I know what to do?

Volunteers will have a training session, about 2 hours, facilitated by experienced volunteers from neighboring counties.  A volunteer manual will be available.

Will I be safe?

The program is designed to provide safety for the volunteers.  Four volunteers, both men and women, will be teaming to welcome guests and to monitor all the activities in the building.  Guests will be rquired to sign an agreement form when they register.  The Kendall County Sheriff's Department and the local police departments will be available if needed.

How much time will be involved?

The target goal for a successful PADS program is to have 28 overnight teams from churches, organizations, businesses, and interested citizens.  That means, if you sign on, you will work one shift per month (about 4 and one-half hours per shift) for six months of the PADS program.
